HIIT (High-Intensity Interval Training)

HIIT, or high-intensity interval training, alternates short bursts of near-maximal effort with periods of rest or easy activity. It is a time-efficient way to build cardiovascular fitness and conditioning, and it adapts readily to outdoor training using gym equipment, cardio machines, or body weight alone.

Because it needs little equipment and not much time, HIIT suits the outdoor gym setting well - a few stations and an open patch of ground are enough. A structured outdoor gym workout plan can incorporate HIIT intervals alongside strength work.
