Outdoor Gyms in Mexico

Outdoor gyms, known in Mexico as gimnasios al aire libre, are a familiar part of public parks, plazas, municipal sports grounds, linear parks along cycle routes and newer residential estates. Most public installations are funded by municipal and state governments, sometimes with federal programmes for upgrading public space, and they are free to use. Conditions vary widely between the mild highland cities and the hot north and coasts, but the dry season from roughly November to April and the early morning hours are the most comfortable almost everywhere.

Permanently installed outdoor fitness equipment ranges from simple bodyweight stations to adjustable-load equipment. In the public sources we checked, Mexico has no dedicated national standard for it; EN 16630, the European standard, is the international reference point used in our guides. New to outdoor gyms?
